The SYP believes in collaboration and potential, growth, and joy.
The Sunnyvale Youth Philharmonic (SYP) empowers young South Bay Area musicians of all backgrounds through a passion-driven orchestra. By providing high-quality music education through accessible classroom pedagogy, the SYP programs classical music from around the world to foster more diverse representation in the classical music field and celebrate our students’ and communities’ unique voices.

Audition to Join
- Signature Repertoire Orchestra: Ages 14 and Up
- Advanced Level Program: Ages 12-18
- Entry Level Program: The CSMA Junior Orchestra by the SYP, in partnership with the Community School of Music and Arts. Ages: 8-12
Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Tuba, Double bass.
Skill Levels: Beginners, intermediary, advanced-level and recent high school graduate players are welcome to audition for one of our programs.

As a teaching orchestra, we focus on the person behind the instrument. We provide a supportive environment where students, teachers, and families grow together. Our musicians learn to collaborate, lead, and share the joy of achievement on stage.
