About
I am an artist based in Tehran, Iran. Professionally, I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and work as a Process/Safety Engineer at a petrochemical consulting firm. However, my true passion lies in art, a constant companion since childhood. As a child, I often sketched in the margins of my books and have always been drawn to portraiture, particularly of girls. While I didn’t pursue formal art education, I have consistently explored various artistic expressions. Over the years, I have participated in numerous drawing and painting classes to refine my skills.
Approximately 15 years ago, I was introduced to illustration under the mentorship of Mr. Mohammadali Baniasadi, a renowned Iranian artist. His classes often began with imaginative storytelling, inspiring us to create. I have been privileged to continue learning from him to this day.
When I paint, I become fully immersed in the process, often finding inspiration in traditional or classical music. I also frequently study the works of established artists to spark new ideas. My preferred mediums are markers and colored pencils, and I enjoy incorporating collage by cutting out sketches from my notebooks and integrating them into larger compositions. My drawing practice emphasizes narrative and storytelling, where delicate characters seem to inhabit an imaginary world between childhood and young adulthood.
I am excited to share my artistic journey and connect with fellow art enthusiasts as an Artist-in-Residence at the Sunnyvale Youth Philharmonic.
