The Sunnyvale Youth Philharmonic (SYP) empowers young South Bay Area musicians of all backgrounds through a passion-driven orchestra. By providing high-quality music education through accessible classroom pedagogy, the SYP programs classical music from around the world to foster more diverse representation in the classical music field and celebrate our students’ and communities’ unique voices.
The Sunnyvale Youth Philharmonic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Tax ID # 33-5035280. If you would like a copy of our IRS Determination Letter, please send us a message.

Skill Levels: Beginners, intermediary, and advanced-level players are welcome to audition for our programs.

The SYP, founded by passionate Latine educators, inspires young musicians to develop their unique voices, celebrate their cultural backgrounds, and grow as musicians and individuals.
The SYP’s programs are teaching orchestras committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Youth orchestras serve as gateways to form professional musicians. Children earn important life and teamwork skills. Youth understands how to collaborate towards common goals and enjoy their achievements during performances.
At the SYP, we build community together and commit to each other through music-making. We welcome students who have discovered their passion for music through a variety of paths.
